Spring Break began today at our house. That means we have much more time together than we normally would over the next week and a half. I love my kids but seriously, they have a lot of stuff. I am a much happier mama when their stuff is not all over the house and I can walk through their bedrooms without tripping or stepping on small toys.
I’m not here today to bicker over whether you should do this or the kids, that issue is entirely up to you, and of course dependent upon the age of your child. So, without further ado, the ten minute kids room cleanup.
- Hang up book bags
- Hang up jackets/sweatshirts
- Place all dirty laundry in the hamper
- Place all shoes in the closet/shoe rack
- Place all pillow/blankets/comforters on the bed
- Place all trash in a trash can and empty
- Place toys away in their appropriate containers
- Place all books on a bookshelf
- Bring all dishes to the kitchen
Remember to check under the bed. If you’re really lucky and you don’t need the entire 10 minutes in your children’s bedrooms then put that time to good use in another room and count yourself lucky. I did this once today and have one more to do tomorrow. A 10 minute investment in your children’s bedroom will keep things from getting too far out of hand.
